Maura Meade Sperry is a licensed and nationally
certified muscular therapist, a professional
member of the American Massage Therapy
Association, and a graduate of The Muscular
Therapy Institute in
Watertown,
MA.
She has continued her education with classes in
pre-natal, hot stone and deep tissue massage.
Maura’s goal is to help her clients achieve
excellence in physical and mental well-being and
to provide restorative and deeply relaxing
massage therapy in a warm and accepting
environment. Her work is varied according to
each client’s specific needs: Swedish, Deep
Tissue, Sports, Myofascial and/or Reiki
techniques may be incorporated into her work in
order to provide an optimized massage for each
client.
Before beginning her massage career Maura spent
10 years in the corporate environments of
biotechnology and management consulting. (She is
all too familiar with the repetitive stress
caused by long hours on a computer!) She came to
massage due to a personal experience of low
energy and found it to be a profound experience
wherein she felt the benefits of increased body
awareness and energy as well as reduced muscular
and emotional stress.
When not providing bodywork or taking long walks
with her two dogs (a retired racing greyhound
and a terrier mix) Maura might be found at
Cambridge’s New England Dog
Training Club where she serves as a volunteer
trainer. Interested in combining her love of
dogs and bodywork, she recently completed an
introduction in the Tellington T-Touch method,
which combines specific touches, lifts, and
movement exercises to help release tension and
increase body awareness in dogs.
